ONI Denim
Japanese Folklore stipulates the courageous Peach Boy, Momotaro, went into battle with the distant island dwelling ONI of the North. Similarly, mysterious and mercurial, ONI denim is steeped in secrecy and prestige. Inspired by the founding fathers of Japanese denim and carrying the spirit of the original Canton Mills, ONI produces some of the finest denim in Japan. Characterized by its low tension, irregular weave and with a slubby hand, ONI denim is masterfully produced by just one Fii San (old man) hand adjusting the loom. The Fii San insists on using only long staple yarns; which whilst labour intensive, produces a much more durable and comfortable jean. This is the beauty of ONI jeans.
